The D.W. Close Company
Claims Support and As-Built Schedule Development
![]() ![]() The Challenge
Help a leading Seattle Electrical Contractor recover from the time and cost impacts of a
project that was behind schedule but still had to meet an imposed completion date. To meet the
deadline, DW Close expended an additional $900,000 in labor and overhead.
The Process
Through extensive interviews with field supervisors and review of all the contract correspondence
and submittal logs, Bluewater, using Microsoft Project 2000's infinite split task capability, was able
to graphically show the impacts and delays caused to DW Close's work flow and manpower requirements.
The Results
The schedules and supporting documents were submitted to an independent cost accounting firm for review.
The results of the report supported DW Close's claim for additional compensation.
